The Future of Product Development

The Future of Product Development is Finland’s most prestigious annual product development event. It focuses on strengthening product organizations, and aims to bring together all the great minds of the industry.

The event was first organized in 2015, when Contribyte’s CEO, Henri Hämäläinen, decided to create a seminar dedicated to product development. At the time, there wasn’t an event solely focused on developing product organizations in Finland, so he thought that it was time to change that.

Over time, the Future of Product Development has become the most important product development event of the year with top-level speakers and a fantastic atmosphere. This year, it will be an invitation-only event in Helsinki, where we will stream it to participants worldwide.

Who is behind it?

This event is now powered by Eficode. It was originally created and organized by Contribyte, until Eficode and Contribyte joined forces in 2021. We are now driving the DevOps and Agile movement together, and building the future of software development across nine countries with about 500 professionals.

Previous events

Over the years, The Future of Product Development has grown into a significant international event. In the first edition we heard a keynote speech from the ice hockey coach Hannu Aravirta and five case stories from interesting companies. Since then, the number of guest speakers has gone up, and the event has gained a more international flavor: we’ve had the honor of welcoming world-class speakers from the Netherlands, the UK, and the USA.

The Future of Product Development has always had a fantastic atmosphere. It started as a seminar and turned into a yearly conference with 300 attendees. The venues have included Helsinki’s famous Old Student House, the cultural center Korjaamo, and the concert hall Musiikkitalo. In 2019 we branched out to the city of Oulu in northern Finland. This year, the seminar returns to its roots in Helsinki, to innovation center Epicenter, which is the perfect place for our first ever hybrid event!
